Marc Busch is an independent parkour athlete located out of Germany, who also happens to be a vegan, giving vegans a good name across the parkour community.
With an audience within the 18-30 age-group giving so much attention to parkour, Marc reaches out to a worldwide parkour community who, according to Marc “is into nutrition and especially vegetarianism and veganism more and more.”
With a growing audience, Marc is now directing his audience towards his social media for a more personal contact.
I conducted a quick online interview with Marc to seek out his thoughts on veganism in his world, as an athelete.

How have you been living this pandemic situation and how has tahat affected your personal and professional life?
It was difficult because what i do the most is giving parkour workshops to kids and adults. Couldn’t do that during Covid-19. My vegan sponsor also still can’t pay me as much as they used to do, because of their income. But its going uphill now 🙂
As a vegan, do you feel you are well served in local markets and supermarkets these days?
Since i started to change to a vegan diet the vegan community exploded! Especially what you find in supermarkets these days is amazing! Even in the very small and cheap ones. Also in every restaurant they know what “vegan” means now, finally. No more strange looks.
Literally every animal product is also available as a vegan copy. And the taste is amazing!
Businesses are thinking more about how to be eco-friendly and sustainable. Its very nice to see.
And how do you think local media treats veganism? Do you read or hear much about it in local papers and TV?
It is definitely growing a lot in all of these areas 🙂
It is more and more well known, it is accepted. I think people here see you as somebody who reflects about his/her life when you tell them you are vegan.
Do you use your vegan lifestyle to reach out to your audience?
I dont really make money as a vegan yet. That sounds so strange haha. My business is mostly parkour and athlete related. But showcasing my lifestyle on Instagram and talking about it on events, i already inspired a lot of people to go vegan or to think about it more.
I’m also pushing my vegan sponsor as much as i can, so we can grow together.

How did you first decide to go vegan?
My mom raised me vegetarian. When i was like 11 or 12 years old, i told my mom that i want to eat meat. She was like: “Ok go on son”. So i did.
Then i switched back and forth for a while until i came in contact with veganism. I was at a parkour workshop and my trainer, who is now one if my closest friends, was talking about veganism. So from one day to another i switched…but that switch was to fast for me. I was travelling a lot at that time and couldnt keep the change, i switched to a vegetarian diet again.
Then i started to leave off animal products step by step and it was, until now, probably the best decision of my life! I feel so much lighter and more energetic!
My recovery is also much faster! As an athlete, it took me to a whole new level!
As an athlete, you are already sponsored by a vegan brand. Do you want to tell us about them?
My vegan sponsor is Ecoterra. They have a sports section called “Strjve” where they sponsor athletes like me with an amazing variety of vegan nutritious foods every month + a monthly payment as well!
