There are small little steps that take you no time at all that will make a drastic change to your business. They may seem trivial, but the consequences can have a massive influence on driving new, targeted visitors to your website every day.
Specialists will always boast about 1 major thing you need in order to drive new visitors to your website – backlinks. Vegan SEO is no different.
In the old days, specialists would recommend building 1000s of backlinks to your website to rank it in search engines. True story. I’m old enough to remember.
These days, though, we all know that one good backlink is worth a thousand crappy ones. No point adding your vegan blog to irrelevant directories. If the directories are not relevant to the plant-based niche, they may even do more damage than good.
What you need is to find keyword-relevant websites you can link back from. That is gold!
And so here we are – a perfect match. You are a vegan blogger or a vegan business owner, and this platform is a vegan community.
If you are a vegan blogger, you can’t get more relevant than this.
This platform is designed just for you. And every other plant-based blogger out there. We are all things vegan. We run a vegan community. We have a vegan marketplace. We even have a vegan business directory.
USE THIS PLATFORM FOR YOUR OWN GOOD
Your spot in this platform is your profile.
The profile is designed to give you the freedom to build a page that represents you or your business as you wish.
We provide you with a bunch of widgets you can choose to use or not use, as you wish. Key is to make your profile an attractive page, that turns the viewer on to learn more about you and your business.
So, I’ll begin by introducing the different areas of your profile.
First, click here to view how a live profile looks (a new page will open so that you can return to this page when you’re done.)
Now that you’ve seen how an actual profile looks, check out the image below and click on the pulsing pins to learn about each area.
YOUR POSTSA list of the latest posts from your own blog.
YOUR TIMELINEEverything you share with the community shows here. The timeline works like any other platform, like Twitter, for example.
YOUR GROUPSNiche groups you run or are a member of. Groups work a lot like Facebook groups, only without the spam!
YOUR MEDIAVisitors can easily find the latest images, videos and podcasts you shared with the community.
And now, allow me to introduce you to the widgets. To build your profile, you can choose to use or not use any of the widgets.
YOUR DASHBOARDAccess the backend of your profile to set up and manage your widgets.
The most important section of your profile :
The “About you” widget
Add a few sentences introducing yourself. By using keywords that are relevant to your business or blog (if this is the case), you are empowering a strong backlink to your website. Remember, your profile is a DoFollow backlink to your website. The more concise you are in using relevant keywords, the stronger this backlink will be.
You can choose to add some images to your profile. Make it more attractive. Use the images to promote your products. Get imaginative.
You can use these widgets as you wish to promote specific services you offer, or, to highlight special areas in your website, for example. Up to you.
Tell visitors who you are by adding a quote.
Add your top video to your profile. You can change it at any time.
If you’ve already added your website to the Green Feed, then you can use this widget to feature one specific post from your list to drive more traffic to that article.
Your website link.
The timeline shouldn’t be much of a mystery to you. It basically functions much like on any other platform. If you’ve added your website to our Green Feed, then your website posts will automatically appear in the timeline. The same goes for your YouTube or Vimeo channels.
Your new videos will appear automatically in your timeline when you publish them. But you can add other stuff. Anything really – something you post on Instagram, even, just by adding the link to your Instagram post.
You can link to a newspaper. A podcast. Another website. The biggest turn on is always the media gallery. People love images and videos, what can I say? So, rather than just posting a link to your Instagram feed, add the image directly to your profile.
All your posts are discoverable and searchable in our Green Search Engine. And just to really place you where you want to be seen, use hashtags. Add 20 to one post, and you will lose out. But stick to 1-3 laser-targeted hashtags and you will get the attention of the audience you strive to capture.
This is a community. And so, mingle! There is no better way to get your name out there than by mingling with the community. Leave a comment here and there. Share someone else’s post on your timeline. Follow people. Click “Like” when you like something. They’re all actions that drive attention to you.
In this community you are safe. We don’t sell your data to anyone else. Your data is yours. We are based in the EU, so this platform is GDPR-compliant. No abuse. No intrusion. There is no spam and we spell it out to internet marketers – this community is not for them. This community is for vegans and all who wish to learn more about living a people-friendly, animal-friendly and eco-friendly lifestyle. We want the community to burst at the seems with original, honest content that will genuinely enrich the lives of those who come to our platform to learn more about a plant-based lifestyle.
So, I am here to help you. Contact me if you have a question. And please, please, please do notify me when you see something you don’t like. I want to make this community a place you will want to be a part of. So, don’t hold back on the creative criticism.
By the way, did you know that this community is but one of many to come? Learn more here. This means you have a profile to play with in every community that makes up OhSoGreen. Make them yours. Each one can be different and with different themes. Its up to you.
